Here, the tour starts with a visit to the majestic Acropolis, located on a hill over the modern city of Bergama. Many fascinating archaeological remains can be explored on the terraces of the Acropolis and in the lower city of Pergamon, now inside the modern town of Bergama. These include the celebrated Library, second only to Alexandria as the most important library of the ancient world; the steepest Theatre of Anatolia; the Temples of Trajan and Dionysos, the monumental Altar of Zeus; the Sanctuary of Demeter; the Gymnasium, and the lower Agora. Sample a delicious lunch of traditional Turkish specialities before spending the afternoon visiting the Archaeological Museum of Pergamon. Finish the tour with a visit to Asclepion, known as the Medical Centre of the ancient world where a temple dedicated to Asclepios, the God of Health, became the main centre for ancient medical treatments. The tour includes transfers, transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, a traditional Turkish lunch and all entrance fees, service charges and taxes.
