Open your senses to the colours, architecture and landscapes of the Loire Valley with this tour from Paris. Explore fairytale castles and soak up the magic of the French landscapes.Highlights- Admire the dramatic architecture of Chambord Castle - See the beautiful arches of the Chenonceau Castle - Be captivated by the beauty of the Loire Valley Enjoy a true feast for the senses: verdant landscapes dotted with magnificent châteaux in an area that was once the crucial boundary between north and southern France. Our first stop is Chambord Castle, the most majestic and visited in the Loire Valley. It is a living embodiment of Renaissance architecture, and you’ll discover how this was the most ambitious and expensive architectural project undertaken by a French monarch. Chambord Castle is every bit the castle you would expect and is complete with astounding staircases, one reportedly designed by Leonardo da Vinci, as well as land filled with red deer and wild boar. Hop back on the bus ready for our exclusive visit to Nitray private castle and vineyards. Here we enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch using local ingredients, with a chance to sample some of the region’s best wines. After coffee and dessert, the owner will take you to the pigeon-house and you will have free time to explore the grounds at your own pace before we make our way to our final stop Continue the tour with a visit to Chenonceau Castle, the so-called ‘Château de Dames’. The castle holds testament to a history of leading female owners who all added to the construction and design of this attractive castle. See the rich royal interiors, the Royal Kitchen and the room of five queens; though you’ll find its arches over the Loire River and the manicured gardens equally impressive. Don't miss the fortress bridge that crosses the River Cher. The castle, in addition to being used to celebrate dances and parties, also served as a hospital during World War I and as a refuge in World War II. Its beautiful gardens are just as charming as the castle itself. Explore the Diane de Poitiers and the Catherine de Medici gardens as well as the fragrant fruit and vegetable garden. When you have finished, enjoy free time to explore the castle at your own leisure. Redeem informationVoucher type: Printed and e-VoucherPrinted voucher or E-voucher.
