Highlights of Bodrum - PrivateTour
This five hour tour is a great way to catch the historical highlights of Bodrum, Turkey’s equivalent of St Tropez!
The tour begins with a visit to the amphitheater for a photo stop. Accredited to the reign of King Mausolus, the amphitheater was enlarged during the 2nd century AD. From here the tour moves on to the remains of the Mausoleum of King Mausolus, a great shrine which became one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and whose stones were later used to build Bodrum’s Castle which the tour visits next.
A short walk passing by the waterfront and the tour arrives at St Peter’s Castle, a Crusader castle built by the Knights of St John between 1402 and 1409 and enjoying a prominent position in Bodrum’s Bay. Beautiful views are available from the castle walls and there is a museum of underwater archaeology within the grounds which can be visited during this tour. Some leisure time is given at a nearby shopping street before re-joining the bus for the transfer back to the hotel or clients can decide to spend more time in the center and make their own way back to their hotel.
