Full Day Rungus Longhouse And Tip Of Borneo
Embark on a 3-hour drive up North of Sabah, driving past vast oil palm and coconut plantations. Stopover at the Gombizou and Sumangkap villages and observe gong-making and honey bee farming.
Next, visit the longhouse at Bavanggazo village where the Rungus people reside. One of Sabah's many indigenous tribes, the Rungus, is mostly farmers and gifted artisans who excel in woven basketry and intricate beadwork.
Lunch will be served at the Rungus longhouse before continuing your journey for another 1.5 hours drive to reach Simpang Mengayau, which will lead you to the Tip of Borneo.
Tip of Borneo - This dramatic headland is situated in the northern-most tip of BORNEO. Simpang Mengayau means 'lingering junction' as it is here that the South China Sea lingers and meets the Sulu Seas flowing from the east. Enjoy the stunning view. The Pulau Kalampunian lighthouse is a reminder of the treacherous coastline and past shipwrecks. On the left is the beautiful beach of Pantai Kalampunian.
