After an early morning departure, we head up the N1 highway, through the spectacular Hex River Valley where you can admire the dramatic mountains and beautiful scenery along the way. After arriving at the Aquila Private Game Reserve, you will be welcomed with refreshing drinks before upon before heading out on your game drive. This bio-diverse environment in the beautiful Cape Karoo ensures plenty of interest for the avid game viewer and bird watcher. This picturesque nature reserve is home to African Cape buffalo, the African bush elephant, the leopard, the lion and the black rhino, giraffe, blesbok, black and blue wildebeest, zebra, leopard amongst others and a staggering 172 species of bird, including the Black eagle! An experienced game ranger will take you on a fascinating three-hour (approximate) open-vehicle game drive and inform you on his knowledge of the bush and wildlife. Whilst making the most of this once in a lifetime opportunity to see the magnificent species of wildlife on this reserve, you will also be able to appreciate the stunning scenery that forms the backdrop to this beautiful game reserve. What´s more, after you have finished your game drive you will be able to enjoy a hearty, delicious buffet lunch at the lodge.
